Oh where to begin! Meg & Dan are just wonderful. Their wedding day was wonderful, in every little way. It was one of those weddings where I felt like a close friend with a camera, their images reflect this openness. I simply never wanted to leave! From their home, to Riverview Park, to Churchview Farm, and to the after party at the Government Center, every moment was a joy to capture.

Earlier in 2024, Meg and I met up at De Fer Coffee & Tea in the Strip District to talk shop. They had just inquired and wanted to customize their package for a more intimate event, around 50 people. They didn't need a second shooter, had a small bridal party, and an overall very laid back day anticipated. This conversation reinforced something I knew to be true but didn't really have embedded into my offerings yet; every wedding is so different and requires different coverage, and as a result, budget considerations. Our chat inspired me to create a new intimate events rate, that still exists today! (Give thanks to Meg!).
About a month before their wedding, Meg & Dan invited me to their walk-through at Churchview Farms. I had never been before, but have been a long-time admirer of their commitment to sustainability/community - Chatham U introduced me to their farm-share program and community dinners! So I was excited to finally visit and to be present to hear all of their design/timeline details from the venue coordinator and florist attending. (I am always willing and excited to attend your walk-through, just say when!)
After the walk-through we shot a few impromptu engagement photos, 100% on film. Then we ventured to their neighborhood where we'd be doing some portraits and scoped out the location, walking, chatting, and talking some more portraits along the way. Check em out:
Now comes the wedding day! I began the morning with Dan and his friends at an Airbnb in the North Side.

Then I made my way over to Meg and her entourage! At the darling home she and Dan had just bought and began to move into. When I arrived, Meg's hair was in curlers, music was playing, and vibes were high.

Handed a bridesmaid a disposable camera for the trolley ride, the outcome is too! cute!

Time for family portraits - their gallery adorned with plenty of smiling at the camera shots - but here are a few of my favorites glimmering with emotion and personality, in between poses.
